Prince Cheating Charming, by Katie Landry

Rating: 👍🏻

There’s a long-held joke in the romance community (and especially among dark romance readers) that we’re ok with kidnapping, stalking, murder, etc etc, but cheating? Absolutely the fuck not.

Historically, I’ve fallen in line with this (save for one exception: Brutal Intentions, by Lilith Vincent, which I loved). But then another author I love started publishing some cheating romances under a new pen name, Katie Landry, and I knew I had to check them out.

The tl;dr of Prince Cheating Charming by Katie Landry is woman (Delilah) meets prince (Alexander), they fall in love, they get married, and then she finds out he’s been cheating… a lot. And the public scandal is goddamned embarrassing. Finally, she gets sick of it and finds a loophole for an annulment. In 30 days, she can leave, but Alexander doesn’t want to let her go. Desperation and groveling ensues.

I loved it? Landry’s writing is so funny. And she can really write a desperate mess of a man. The grovel is so good I forgave him, and—considering I personally view cheating as unforgivable—that’s pretty remarkable. Do I still think Delilah can do better? Sure. But I respect that she loved him and actually trusted he was through with his philandering.

Anyway, Landry is now easily a must-read author for me.
